Mohammad Hussain Hirji,Chairman Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP)

Mr. Mohammad Hussain Hirji, the chairman of the Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP) and Chief Executive Officer of Century Insurance Company Limited, embarked on his insurance career at Adamjee Insurance Company in 1989, serving as a branch Head. After relocating to Canada in 1993, he delved into the insurance broking industry until he returned to Pakistan in 1996. Upon his return, he assumed the role of Head of Miscellaneous Underwriting at EFU General Insurance in 1996, and later took on the additional responsibility of overseeing the Reinsurance Department. In 1999, he transitioned to Allianz-EFU Health Insurance, where he served as the Head of Operations until 2002. Temporarily departing from the insurance industry, Mr. Hirji held the position of Head of Finance and Administration at the Aga Khan University – Institute for Educational Development in 2002. However, in 2004, he reentered the insurance sector as the Head of Operations for the newly established PICIC Insurance. In early 2009, he was appointed as the President and Chief Executive of Askari General Insurance Company, residing in Islamabad. Finally, in October 2010, he assumed his current role as Chief Executive Officer at Century Insurance Company.

Mr. Hirji boasts a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA in Business Economics, both conferred by DePaul University in Chicago. Additionally, he attained the title of Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1991 and is recognized as a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker.
